On the news tonight they announced that they have passed the 20 million doses of vaccine, I think you will agree that this is a fantastic effort? I had mine at the Riverside centre in Newport and it was very efficient, my details were checked by a Fireman and the jab administered by the Army! In and out in less than 15 minutes, excellent. I feel that there may be a light at the end of the tunnel (let’s hope it’s not the tax man with a torch!) and that in the next newsletter we shall be starting to think about runs that finish outside at the very least.
I was totally underwhelmed by the response I had to my suggestion about a service for members who may be stuck with vehicles or tools, so all i am going to say is if you have a problem your clubmates are here to help, a friendly ear is guaranteed at least.
I know Joe will have a piece in this newsletter asking for subs, and I would like to reinforce his request. PLEASE pay your subs! why not set up a Standing Order? You have complete control over this, the club cannot make changes or cancellations, you have to do that yourself. It’s not fair for Joe to spend his time chasing non payers.
Trying to corner the 2cv on the door handles has led to another set of tyres required! E tyres are booked in but they have cancelled one appointment and were an hour and a half late on the second when they bothered to phone to say they would be late! Needles to say they took the money immediately. I will let you know how it goes.
Take care Geoff Dean
