Classic Yachts & Classic Cars at Cowes Yacht Haven 22nd July 2026
For a third year in a row the event was blessed with a warm evening, clear skies and just a light breeze. 23 VHVC Ltd Classic Cars arrived just either side of 6pm and were soon parked up near to the Pontoon which gave access to the multitude of Classic Yachts. The area soon came alive with yacht owners taking interest in the cars. Whilst our members soon took interest in the Wine, a variety of soft drinks and very acceptable Pizza’s, all kindly supplied by the Yacht Haven free of charge. Jess the steward at the club had laid on the goodies and made us very welcome looking after us so well. Some members popped up the road to Corries Cabin for Fish and Chips in a box which contributed to more fine dining. It was Mike Brackstone’s ?? Birthday so a rousing Happy Birthday was sung. I took a walk down onto the pontoons and could clearly see what a popular event this is with the power boat and yacht owners, all the seaward side pontoons were full of classic yachts. The time went quickly and after much chat among our 40 plus members, it was soon 7.30pm and time to leave what had been a fabulous evening. Peter Hodgson
