Cowes Week VHVC in Northwood Park 5th Aug On a hot sunny day 10 VHVC members enjoyed a relaxing day in Northwood Park. Members of the public showed great interest in the cars as they passed by en rout to the seafront. The trees provided plenty of shade for us all and with a breeze that gusted at times provided ample cooling. The tim and Linda blow up Gazebo was turned inside out by a gust but survived undamaged. The real excitement of the day was when a holiday maker decided to go rogue and park under a tree out of parking bounds opposite where we were. One gust of wind was too much for the huge tree she had parked under and with a crack like rifle shot a large branch broke off right over the parked car in a shower of leaves and branches. Luckily for her the main branch was caught hanging over her car by other branches. The area soon roped off by staff. The lady alerted moved her luckily undamaged car right under another nearby tree !!!! By 3.30 we had had enough excitement and made our way home.
