Donation to Ability Dogs 4 Young People Sept 21st 2022

Following the VHVC Club Open Day, which regularly raises a large donation for our chosen charities. Speaking to Ability Dogs 4 Young People’s CEO Carol Court, the club was aware of the very difficult time faced by them following Covid. They now have over 60 dogs and puppies, with 35 directly assisting disabled young people with a variety of needs. The Charity covers all the costs of working and training Ability Dogs and puppies, including vet bills, food and equipment.

The VHVC Ltd had been left a legacy of £2,000 to the club by the late Paddi Eales the decision was made to add a further £500 from the Open Day funds raised and donate to the charity Ability Dogs 4 Young People, which would enable the organisation to train a new puppy named Paddi which would twin with “Jack” named after Paddi’s husband in 2017. The £2,500 cheque was presented by Peter Hodgson, Club President on behalf of all club members.

16 Classic Cars attended for the photo shoot in the warm sunshine. Carol Court, Founder & CEO said, “I would like to personally thank VHVC for continuing to support the charity and our Ability Dog training programme.  This has been a difficult year, after Covid, but we are very fortunate that VHVC and other Island clubs are generously supporting us.  This means that we can continue training Ability Dogs to assist disabled young people on the Island.
