Classics on the Green – Yarmouth 10am to 4pm – Booking Required [See More Info]

August 8

We have been advised by Yarmouth Carnival committee that Yarmouth Carnival Week along with Classics on the Green has been cancelled.
However, the Carnival Committee, at our request have transferred the required licence from the Harbour Master, to hold Classics on the Green jointly to the Vectis Historic Vehicle Club Ltd and the Vectis MG Club.
The Yacht Club have taken over more of the Green so space is restricted for a Classic display. We have also had to provide proof of Public Liability Insurance and a Risk Assessment to the Harbour Master.
Therefore, the original Yacht Club Field will be reserved for VHVC & VMGC Owners only.
However, the good news is that following negotiations The Harbour Office have just granted use of the large Grassed area on the landward side, behind the Yacht Club area, which fronts the main road.
The grass is regularly cut and following our inspection suitable for cars. Access to this area is from the main Pay Car Park.
We do hope members from other island clubs will take advantage of this excellent area to display their cars. But MUST email us to register.
Clubs and Private individuals using the field do so at their own risk of injury to themselves and others.
It is recommended that Clubs have a Public Liability Insurance in place to cover the worst scenario.
Clubs should arrange their own Marshalling arrangements on the day.
Gates will be opened no earlier that 9.30am.
Members of other IW Clubs together with VHVC or VMGC MUST apply to book a parking space via our club email address vhvcltd@hotmail.com Giving your Name and Vehicle Registration and stating which club they are a member of.
We know it is not ideal but we have put a lot of work in to keep this event alive. If the weather is reasonable it will be a great day out.
Apologies if this sounds a bit formal, but with legislation these days it is advisable to be aware of the risks.
