IoW Ford Open Day Sunday 3rd Aug. 2025 Porchfield Cricket Club Grounds Arriving just before 10am there was already a field full of Classics from many island car clubs. Notably the Ford club themselves with an impressive array of restored cars in show condition all a tribute to their owners. Mini Group, Jaguar Club, Pre 1990 group, as well as a strong contingent from the VHVC. Graeme Farrar advised that more than 120 classics had attended in the day. The weather was overcast but warm and against the boundary fence we were out of the wind. Sandra Froment… Cook, Vickie Rasmussen …Butterer and Chris Batchelor… Delivery served bacon rolls to our large group, together with Chris’s Cake. To round the day off Kevin Froment posthumously won the Pre 1980’s award, so well deserved for his Mk3 Cortina immaculately presented. Bill Rasmussen won the Pre 1960’s award with his MG MGA and Mike Brackstone won the Pre WW2 Award. A very good day for VHVC members winning 3 awards. As the cars thinned out after lunch to the 3pm awards everyone left for home before the dark clouds rained on us. All agreed it had been a good and well attended show.
