Havenstreet Summer Extravaganza Fair ( Steam Up) 28th to 31st Aug With the weather forecast to be poor on Fri, Sat & Sun we went on Monday arriving at 9.30am well in time for the 10am cutoff. There were already many Classic Cars, Steam Engines, Commercials, Military vehicles, Motorbikes and Tractors in position already. A few more Classics trickled in and parked wherever they could under the direction of marshal Will Sprack. Finding a spot in the lee of the stalls behind the parade ring we were sheltered and had some shade from the sun which appeared at intervals. The entertainment was ongoing through the day with Stunt Motorbikes, Sheepdog demonstrations and Steam engine musical chairs. All interspersed with parades of all classes of vehicles. With entry adult price of £20pp it was amazing how many people were there. Talking to some of the marshal’s attendances were good on all the days. The Classic Car display in the show ring was the last attraction of the day, after the public had looked at the cars and chatted to owners, we were released around 5.30pm behind all the steam engines, fortunately only seeing one in front of us on the way home. A great day to chat and banter with like minded owners and public alike
