I W Railway 50th Steam Fair (2nd Day) Sat 30th August Saturday morning dawned bright and sunny with the prospect of a hot day to come. Vickie and I drove to Havenstreet in the MGA and found the showground already busy at 9-30 am., many exhibitors had stayed overnight and were busy looking after themselves or their exhibits. There were Steam engines, Commercials, Military vehicles, Classic cars, Tractors and Motorcycles on display. This year the cars were arranged randomly for viewing and unfortunately this left little room for their owners to sit with their vehicles. Throughout the day various events were held in the arena, these were all listed in the free programme. There were plenty of stalls selling all kinds of things including food and drinks. Children were entertained by fairground rides and other attractions. We left just before 6 pm and a come and go window would have been helpful on such a hot day. We thought it was an excellent show, well organised by very helpful staff. Sadly, there were not very many VHVC members present.
