Jaguar Open Day 31st July 2022

Sep 6, 2022

The Jaguar Open Day or “Auto Fest” as now renamed, was held again at Sandown Airport 9.30am to 4pm. The main VHVC members group gathered at Morrisons car park at 9am and drove off as a unit to the show.

On arrival we found that a contingent of VW owners had claimed squatter’s rights on the area reserved for us, but with Marshal Ray Lovers assistance we were soon found an alternative position.

We sat in some comfort behind Sandra and Kevin’s two wind breaks, which sheltered us from the strong Southerly breeze. The weather remained dry all day, allowing us all to chat and circulate with members of other clubs as well as our own.

230 classic cars were on show, with over 1500 people through the gate as spectators, which will surely prove a successful fund raising day for the IoW Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, whose Charity is again for The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. With stalls and live music, Comedian and Magician Randini as well as food stalls gave something for everyone.

We were very appreciative of the hard work required by a small team to arrange and run the show by the club committee members, especially Shelia and “Woody”, both in their 80’s marshalling cars in and out all day.
