1969 Marcos 3 Litre V6

1969 Marcos 3 Litre V6 The “1969 Marcos 3-Litre Fireball - the fastest 3-Litre production car we have ever tested” (Motor Magazine, 1969). This has the Ford Zodiac 3 Litre V6 engine plus overdrive, and a steel chassis instead of the wooden version of earlier models. Strictly a 2-seater, it is low (extremely low), so you need to be fit and agile even to get into it, or get out! It is not suitable for journeys with speed bumps in the road, unmade roads or tracks due to its minimal ground clearance, but what a thrill! Bought by Mike in 1981, he fully restored it and won numerous national concours competitions during the 1980s. It was also exhibited 3 times at the National Classic Car Show at the NEC, plus at shows all over England. Mike founded Club Marcos International in 1982, and the club is still going strong.
