I arrived a little early, as usual, hardly any traffic about so had a straight run through. Closely followed by Fred Vallendar in his mini. By 10.20 there were 24 cars on display, all gleaming in the very warm sunshine. The event has been one of my favourites since I joined the VHVC and, due to the passing of our host Joy Green, this was to be the last event here. Hopefully a new venue can be arranged so we can continue to support the Bembridge Festival organisers.
Steve Read had his mobile cafe with him and made excellent tea and coffee for a donation to Mountbatten. Many thanks Steve. After a day of simply sitting about chatting, we packed up and were on our way by 3.30. Following a count up,Steve revealed he had raised £75 for Mountbatten. Well done Steve.
