Held at the County Showground Northwood this is always a very large show. In previous years we were invited to attend on both days and had a “window” to arrive first thing, stay to 1pm, or arrive between 1 and 1.30pm or opt to stay all day. Organisers could not grant the half day option and decided to limit the VHVC to just attending on the Saturday. At the last moment the arrival time changed to 9am to 5pm The reason for limiting us to Saturday was explained that in recent years few cars attended on both days, so the move was to try to boost numbers from the club and concentrate our involvement on Saturday. With the weather forecast to be very hot and not any shade members appear to have decided not to risk being in the extreme heat for 8 hours. Therefore only 6 VHVC members and 7 non-members were there to display on the Saturday. Sunday had been reserved for the IoW American Club to a theme to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of American Independence. The attendance only marginally better with 9 American Classics, 2 Trikes and 1 Mini. To sum up we believe it was the very accurate forecast of the extreme heat that stopped members attending.
