Social Run 19th October 2025 Gunville To Tea & Cake!! (Thompson's Garden Centre) Sunday 19th October turned out exactly as the weather forecast had predicted, wet! However, 22 intrepid members set off from Gunville towards Thompson’s Garden Centre via either the prearranged pleasant afternoon drive route, or the bring on the cake route. I had previously given as many people as I spoke to the choice, being as there was only about 10 minutes difference between them and well done to the afternoon drive group who went via Rookley, Godshill and Whiteley Bank to get to Arreton. Tea and treats were then purchased accompanied by a quiz provided by Sandra, which consisted of 26 alphabetically arranged pictures of letters taken from the wrappers of sweets and chocolates (very apt and not as easy as you may think). The winners of the quiz were : 1st Sam Smith 24 points, 2nd Adam and Sarah Ward 22 points, 3rd Kevin and Karen Attwood 21 points. Well done to you all, sweetie aficionados???? It was, as ever, a very pleasant afternoon spent in good company. Thank you very much for venturing out in such inclement weather. Angie Driscoll
