Social Run 27th July 2025 Our July run was organised by Adam & Sarah Ward, meeting as usual at Carpetright car par Carisbrooke. Around 20 members cars were there for the 2pm departure. A scenic run via Brighstone was followed by most people to Calbourne Mill, where the row of Classics made a very colourful scene. The 40 or more members found plenty of space at tables nearly filling the café. The very diverse questions in the quiz set by Adam caused much head scratching, whilst members tucked in to a variety of reasonably priced cakes, teas and coffees. Winners of the quiz , with a maximum of 11 out of 20 questions was Bill and Vickie Rasmussen, second after a tiebreak came Sue and Geoff Dean then third the table represented by Denis Rumbold and Chris Wilson. Chris Batchelor, Chair, congratulated Adam and Sarah for a much enjoyed run and quiz. We were most impressed by the several young lads looking at the cars and who were all so enthusiastic about them asking very sensible questions. They couldn’t believe that some even had the ignition keys in still unattended. I said we came from an age when trust was universal. They agreed it was safe in the grounds, but that on the outside there was no trust. The lady who was leading them thanked us for giving the boys something to talk about for ages. They like us wanted to hear the exhaust notes
