Visit to Vecta House Care Home 24th July 2025 The Club were invited to display Classic Cars for the third year in a row, for the residents to enjoy nostalgia when these classics were their everyday cars. Due to the small display area available we were restricted to only enough space for 7 classics. Chris Wilson with his Morris Traveller, Pete Hodgson’s MGB GT, Peter Everett and Julia with the Aston Martin DB 4/2, Jon Baker’s Spitfire, Steve Wilson’s Jubilee MGB GT, Chris and Dave Batchelor’s Triumph Stag and Bill and Vickie’s MGA. A girl singing live pop music enhanced the atmosphere for the 2 hours we were there. Soft Drinks, Hot Dogs and tea and coffee also kindly laid on for us. Many chats to the residents recalling the cars of their time were good to hear. Our cars evoking those memories. One lady in particular recalling how she had deported herself across the bonnet of a sports car in her youth, using Bill’s MGA as a prop. We all missed the company of Kevin Froment and his Cortina who was a previous regular at this event. Thanking Tanya our contact for the occasion we left as the last resident went inside for tea.
