VHVC Ltd Presentation to Mountbatten

The Vectis Historic Vehicle Club Ltd met at Mountbatten Hospice Newport,on a lovely sunny July morning, with their cars. After an introduction by Geoff Dean to reiterate the clubs commitment to Mountbatten.

A £400 cheque was presented by Hursts managing Director (Designate) Jevon Kennedy to Mountbatten C.E.O. Nigel Hartley. The £400 was made up of various private donations from VHVC Club members, a Natwest donation, together with a £200 discount donation given by Hursts of Newport on the Christmas vouchers purchased, with the understanding that a £200 discounted amount would be donated by the club to Mountbatten.

The cheque was presented to a backdrop of 6 classic cars Joe Kitney’s Aston Martin Volante DB7, Geoff Dean’s Citroen 2CV, Peter Hodgson’s Austin Healey Mk1, John Bryant’s Daimler SP250, Chris Belford’s VW Beetle and Dave Spurgin’s MG Midget

Nigel Hartley responded and said how much the donation was appreciated, with the pandemic having caused fund raising to fall to a fraction of previous years. Mountbatten very much appreciated local Island peoples support.
