YARMOUTH CARNIVAL DAY ON THE GREEN Sat. 9th August 2025 Arrived at Yarmouth at 10.15am and already many Classics lined up along the front of the green, a steady Westerly breeze was blowing across which made most owners sheltering on the lee side of their cars. Later we parked up near the hedge using it as a windbreak. We were to be able to park on the other side of the hedge in past years, which would have been much more comfortable, but this area has been taken over by the yacht club and they use it for boat storage now. During the day 30 cars arrived which was a good number for this event. It was good to see non VHVC members cars on display, signs the event is getting bigger. Lots of members of the public looking round the cars before going into town to see the carnival events, a sports day was being run at the other end of the field with lots of children having a great time, with age related sprints, sack races, egg and spoon finishing off with a Tug of War between Islanders and Non Islanders, must have been at least 20 aside, with the Island team winning after a titanic struggle. Cars started to leave at around 3.30, we had left by 4pm.
